Chapter Meeting and Service Project
We will hold our December meeting on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the East Shelby Library (Large Conference Room).  The library is located at 7200 East Shelby Drive (38125).  The meeting will start at 10:00am.  We are starting the meeting earlier because we will be conducting our Christmas Community Service Project at Graceland Nursing Center in Whitehaven (1250 Farrow, behind Kroger) at 12:00 Noon.   The Service Project will consist of praying, Christmas Caroling, gifts, and spreading cheer to everyone at the Center.  I encourage each of you to participate on next Saturday.  Some great gift ideas include: Christmas cards, non- skid socks, winter hats and gloves, combs and brushes, Bibles, Christmas ornaments (not glass though), and playing cards.  If you can’t attend, feel free to drop your donations off at the meeting.  Our Southeast Regional Vice-President, Yolanda Owens (’93) will also attend the meeting and Service Project.  We are looking forward to her visit.

Christmas Potluck
Ms. Audrey Fullilove has graciously offered to host this year’s Christmas Potluck at her home (4460 Blackgrove Drive; Memphis 38125) on Saturday, December 17, 2011 from 7pm – until.  If you are interested in participating, please contact her as soon as possible at (601) 201-3276 or alfullilove@msn.com.  Suggested food items are: fruit tray, veggie tray, cheese tray, casserole dishes, Christmas cookies, cakes and pies!!  She is providing soft drinks, bottled water and paper ware.  All other beverages fall under the BYOB policy.

1st Annual JSU Memphis Scholarship Banquet
Anyone who is interested in working on this year’s scholarship banquet should contact Ms. Angelia Webster at aw.qcbs@gmail.com.  The banquet has been tentatively scheduled for June 2012 and it is important that all of JSU Memphis support this project.  In addition to event development that support can come from donations or the sale of tickets, tables, and ads.  Let’s continue to be the Alumni Chapter Leader in sending great students to Jackson State University.

Please note that you still have the opportunity to pay your $90 chapter and national dues for the current fiscal year at the chapter meeting.   I look forward to seeing you at the December 10th meeting.  Please forward this email to other JSU alumni who are not on this email distribution.  Do not hesitate to contact me with questions.

Did you know that to keep Jackson
State’s tuition as affordable as possible, we raise funds each year to cover the gap between the cost of tuition and the actual annual cost to educate each student? The Faith Fund is Jackson State’s primary vehicle for closing this “gap.”
